Currently, Roads are under 2-3 inches of water on Big Island Followed by falling trees and power outages. The hurricane lane crashed into following areas
- Hawaii County
- Maui County, including the islands of Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and Kahoolawe.
and is now expected to move “near or long” to the areas of
- Kauai County, including the islands of Kauai and Niihau.

More than millions of people are said to have been evacuated from the state, with over ten’s of thousands of people huddling in shelters. As Hurricane Lane moves north at about 6mph, the total of water dumped on Big Island remains high.
A total of two feet (24 inches) of water has been emptied onto the island, prompting rivers and streams to overflow.
Residents are advised to avoid walking or driving through flood waters and should move to higher ground immediately and keep an eye on local updates.
